Chat widget
The widget adds a chat launcher and panel to your site, connected to one of your agents. It renders inside a Shadow DOM, so your page’s CSS and the widget’s never clash.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- An agent to chat with.
- An app with your site in its allowed origins.
- Your site’s origin in the server’s
CORS_ORIGINS.
Who is chatting
Section titled “Who is chatting”The widget always chats as an end user of your app. Choose how it gets one:
- Anonymous: visitors chat without signing in. The widget handles it; you pass only the app id. See anonymous users.
- Your users: your backend issues a token for the signed-in user and you pass it to the widget. See identify your users.
